Monrreal Rips 3 Homers Against Mets

Jose Monrreal went yard three times in a Fort Myers Mighty Mussels victory over the St. Lucie Mets at Hammond Stadium.
"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."
For the day, the Fort Myers shortstop went 3-for-4 against St. Lucie with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Mighty Mussels to the 6-5 win.
"I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out."
Jose Monrreal hit a three-run home run off Gus Sanchez in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Gus Sanchez in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Franklin Gallegos in the 8th.
This season, Monrreal is batting .250 with 5 home runs.
