Jose Aluarzo has to call it a season. The Hillsboro Hops reliever learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 07/06/2036 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a torn rotator cuff and stated that he would not be able to play for 10 months.
The team will likely place Aluarzo on the injured list today.
For the season to date, Aluarzo has no saves in 17 relief appearances with a 0-1 record and 9.67 ERA.

NWL's #1 Player, Diaz of Everett

John Diaz stepped up to the plate in a big way last week and today he took home the Northwest League Player of the Week honors.
The Everett first baseman ripped opposing pitchers for 10 hits in 25 at-bats and 6 home runs. He put together a sizzling .400 batting average as he knocked in 16 runs and scored 10 times.
This year, Diaz is batting .299 with 41 hits and 11 home runs. He has scored 28 times and has batted in 33 runs.
