Chesapeake Halts Rossi's Hitting Steak

The hitting streak that Richmond first baseman John Rossi had kept going for 20 games was ended by the Chesapeake Baysox. Rossi was stymied over 5 at-bats, but the rest of his team picked him up, getting the 4-3 victory at Prince George's Stadium.
"Hitting streaks come and go," Rossi said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win."
In the 2035 season Rossi is hitting .417 with 2 home runs.
