Toronto Dispatched, 8-1, by Los Angeles
|
Los Angeles Angels pitcher Josh Peele was in fine form, leading his team past the Toronto Blue Jays, 8-1. Peele picked up the win for Los Angeles, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. Los Angeles raised its record to 20-17 with the win.
Jorge Vasquez had a big run-scoring double for the Angels in the bottom of the first inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Tegan Kuhns, who finished 4th in the NL in innings pitched with 198.2 in 2034, and swatted a double to center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Angels ahead, 2-0.
"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager KD Meehan.
