The Toronto Blue Jays eked out a 3-2 win versus the New York Yankees at Rogers Centre. Nobody did more than pitcher Scott Reddin. He was terrific. The win was credited to 35-year old right-handed pitcher Zach Maxwell in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Reinold Navarro took the loss. Garrison Purdy earned save number 8 this season.

Had Jose Negron not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Negron hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Blue Jays.

"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said New York manager Adam Morgan.

With the victory, the Blue Jays upped their record to 23-12.
