Baltimore Upended, 5-2, by Toronto
|
The Toronto Blue Jays knocked off the Baltimore Orioles, 5-2, in American League action at Rogers Centre. Toronto pitcher and Westhampton, New York, native Justin McTague had an outstanding performance. Garrison Purdy picked up the save, his 3rd. The win puts Toronto at 5-4.
Dean Curley had a big 3-run home run for the Blue Jays in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Toronto leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a sinker from 29-year old left-handed pitcher Andy Ramos and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Blue Jays on top, 4-0.
Toronto manager KD Meehan commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
