Carmona on Fire: 5-for-6 for San Francisco
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Diego Carmona -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Great American Ball Park and paced the 17-7 Giants win over the Cincinnati Reds.

After his dynamite batting performance, the San Francisco second baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Diego Carmona doubled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Kyle Johnson in the 8th, hit a two-run single in the 10th and hit a three-run home run off Danny Colon in the 10th.

Thus far this year, Carmona is batting .300 with 7 home runs, 24 RBIs and 34 runs scored.
