Division Series Game 1 Victory for Perez and Toronto
The Toronto Blue Jays powered past the visiting Los Angeles Angels, 3-1, in the opener of the Division Series at Rogers Centre. Toronto starting pitcher Manuel Perez threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball, to lead the charge. The Blue Jays now lead the series 1-0.

Perez delivered a quality start for Toronto. The 6-foot-2 right-hander allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 7 innings of work.

"We're happy," Perez told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."
