Blue Jays Need Extra Innings to Top Bisons, 6-3
|
Due in large part to designated hitter Jose Negron, the Toronto Blue Jays sunk the El Paso Bisons, 6-3. Negron was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Gabriel Agostini was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Sebastian Pulido. Matt Svanson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 30 of 30 save opportunities.
Negron had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a first pitch fastball from Sebastian Pulido, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Blue Jays a 6-2 lead. It was the 23rd home run of the year for Negron.
"This was a total team effort," said Negron.
Toronto is now 60-42, El Paso 48-54.
