Bob Graves of the El Paso Bisons was on top of his game.

The 24-year-old tantalized the Chicago White Sox with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 6-0.

"He had the changeup working," Chicago manager Bob Henley said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The El Paso hurler had 2 strikeouts, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 5 hits in his complete-game effort.

Graves told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.

This year, Graves has a 4-8 record with a 3.39 ERA in 14 starts.
