The Toronto Blue Jays dealt the Minnesota Twins a 5-2 loss at Target Field. Belfi Rivera was the star on offense. He went 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Toronto leads the American League East Division by 2½ games.
Toronto grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Rivera hit a 2-run home run off Chris Redden. His 7th home run of the season put the Blue Jays out in front, 3-1.
"It was a good effort all around," said Rivera.
